An Arizona mom has gone viral after showing up to a school board meeting dressed as a cat and in makeup to mock what she says is the school’s “wake up agenda.”
Lindsey Graham, a conservative and published author who hosts the ‘Patriot Barbie’ podcast, made headlines after a video showed her in the feline outfit, inspired by board member Paul Bixler.
Bixler, 72, a retired teacher and principal, identifies as a transgender woman. She was appointed to the Liberty School Board, which covers eight schools on the outskirts of the Phoenix metropolitan area, in 2021 after the election was canceled and she is scheduled to serve one term until December 2024.
Graham, no relation to the South Carolina US Senator of the same name, clearly addressed Bixler, without naming her, and the board that evening.

Graham, no relation to the South Carolina US senator of the same name, clearly addressed Bixler and the board that night.
She said: ‘I am a cat. Meow meow. I am not a woman dressed as a cat. I am a cat. How many of you believe and confess that I am a cat? How many of you think your child or a child in this school would believe that I am actually a cat?’
After no one raised their hand, she continued: ‘No one. Are you okay. Truth prevails over imagination. The reality exists. Discernment is innate and something we are programmed to have. One look at me, and you know this is true. I am a woman posing as a cat.
After the internet went wild over her looks a month ago, Graham spoke with Jesse Watters of Fox News on Tuesday to express outrage that Bixler has inappropriate influence on school-age children.
She said: ‘This was a local school in my neighborhood where there was a school board member whose name is Paul Bixler. He is a man, he is clearly a man.
Graham later complained that “the only thing she does to identify as a woman is put on lipstick.” She grew her hair out a bit and wears her late wife’s clothes to school, sporting events, school fundraisers, school events in front of the kids.
Bixler made the transition after his wife of 36 years, Candace, died in 2017.
The ‘Patriot Barbie’ added: ‘The only thing she does to identify as a woman is put on lipstick. She grew her hair out a bit and wears her late wife’s clothes to school, sporting events, school fundraisers, school events in front of the kids.
She sees it as a ‘gender identity crisis’, claiming that the board member wants to be known as Paul, ‘which is a man’s name’, or Mrs Bixler.
“Not only does he appear in front of the boys and insist that the boys define him as a woman, but he sits on the board and makes decisions for these boys.”
Bixler, in a July interview with AZCentralhe said that although he had transitioned late in life, he has received mostly positive reactions from locals.

“When I have a reaction, it’s usually the little kids. They will look at me, they will wonder what is going on,” she said. ‘And I just smile and wave at them and so on.’
She spent decades as a teacher, coach, and principal in Arizona and Texas. Records of her are unclear, but it is possible that she is the first transgender woman to hold elected office in Arizona.
Bixler said of her decision to run: “I thought, ‘shoot, what I know is public education.’ And right here in Arizona, they could use me.”
She said her agenda was: ‘Free and Appropriate Education’. Sounds familiar? I hope so. Free and appropriate words are a promise. A promise rooted in the Fourteenth Amendment and guaranteed in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. All this promise asks is to attend. I believe that this is the constitutional right of all children and, more importantly, the human right. I believe in public education.
When it comes to keeping the Paul name, he said it’s about believing he’s the person he always was, despite his transition.
“When I have a reaction, it’s usually the little kids. They will look at me, they will wonder what is going on,” she said. ‘And I just smile and wave at them and so on’
Graham, however, believes that Bixler has a “mental illness” that should prevent him from influencing the children.
Bixler said of her decision to run: “I thought, ‘shoot, what I know is public education.’ And right here in Arizona, they could use me.”
Bixler said: ‘I don’t think it’s changed at all. I think I am who I am. And I think I’ve always been who I am. And then my parents named me Paul. I’ve always liked being Paul. Paul Bixler has had a really good life.
Graham, however, believes that Bixler has a “mental illness” that should prevent him from influencing the children.
She said: ‘Someone with this kind of mental illness can enjoy that mental illness all they want in the comfort of their own home. But when you put them in charge of the children, we’re talking about a new type of indoctrination, and that’s really scary, is to see these people in charge of our children’s education.’
Graham, who moved to Arizona from Oregon after defying state shutdowns to keep her salon open and suing the governor, said one of the school board members thanked her for “fighting this agenda, fighting this teacher and this school board member.
The author of ‘GOAL: A mother’s fight for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’. All it takes is for some of us to stand up and tell the truth and find our partners in crime, so to speak. We can really come together, fight and save our children.’
