Molly Rainford’s nan Doreen has revealed the singer confided in her about being a contestant in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing before anybody else.
The former BGT finalist, 21, was announced to be taking part in the BBC series three weeks later, but the 82-year-old admitted keeping the secret was terribly difficult.
She told The Mirror: ‘I was told about her going on Strictly before everyone and I had to keep it quiet, which was very hard – because I’m a gossip. I don’t know how I did, but I did.’

Doreen also hilariously confessed she watches Molly’s CBBC show Nova Jones every week despite not understanding what’s going on.
She admitted: ‘I have no idea what it’s about. But if she’s on television, we’ll watch it.’
The proud grandmother will now be watching Strictly. She said: ‘As soon as they give me the numbers, I’m going to write them down so I can vote. Molly will take whatever they throw at her.’
The Strictly Come Dancing curse has seen many couples break up and get together over the years.
Big news: The former BGT finalist, 21, was announced to be taking part in the BBC series three weeks later, but the 82-year-old admitted keeping the secret was terribly difficult
But Molly recently said that she will be steering clear of all that drama when she stars on the show this autumn.
The singer was unveiled as part of the 2022 lineup alongside names such as Tony Adams, Ellie Simmonds and Matt Goss.
Speaking to The Sun, Molly opened up on the so-called Strictly curse and firmly ruled herself out of falling for it.
She insisted she was too young for a relationship, preferring to be laser focussed on her career.
Molly also revealed her parents have warned her not to become ‘distracted’ by boys.
She said: ‘I’m only 21, so I’m not looking for a relationship on Strictly. That’s not in the picture right now. I want to focus on my career.
‘My parents don’t want me to be distracted or worrying about boys just yet. I’m single and don’t plan on changing it.’
Molly added that when it comes to the judges she doesn’t have much of a game plan, saying: ‘I‘m hoping to charm the judges with my hard work. My plan is to just be myself.’
