“I bite and my tooth literally came out last night…”

According to expert Dr. Rizwan Mahmood from Rüh Dental, emotional reactions like Molly-Mae’s can be treacherous in pearly whites.

He said of the phenomenon: “It’s an instant physical response when humans see something cute like a fluffy kitten, puppy or rabbit that makes them react physically rather than verbally.”

“But by gnashing and biting down hard on our jaw, we risk cracking, chipping and breaking our teeth.

“It doesn’t take too much pressure to hurt either, so if you’re looking at cute pictures on Instagram or TikTok, watch your mouth!”

Dr. Mahmood also warned that anyone with cosmetic dentistry risks costly repairs.

“If you have porcelain veneers, for example, it could be extremely expensive as they can crack under pressure,” he added.

Molly-Mae was left with a ‘dagger’ tooth last year when she chipped it.

And after failing to resolve the issue, she recently admitted that her confidence had been shaken and that she had “never felt more insecure.”

The influencer is due to welcome her first child with Tommy Fury any day now and has had to avoid having any dental work during her pregnancy.

Speaking candidly in her latest YouTube video, Molly explained: ‘It’s so bad. I have never felt more insecure than now about my teeth.

‘I’m going to the dentist on Monday, it’s not like they can do anything to fix it, they already told me that while I’m pregnant they won’t do anything to my teeth.

“They even suggested that while I’m breastfeeding, they won’t do anything to my teeth either.

‘All my edge binding is coming off. And I can’t whiten my teeth because you’re not allowed to whiten your teeth while you’re pregnant.

She continued: “I’m getting to the point… looking at the pictures on my blog, I’m beyond confident in my teeth. It makes me not want to post pictures, which is not like me.

‘I never care what I look like. But with teeth it is different. I just don’t like looking like I have bad crunches.

Molly gave fans an update on her dental care last month.

She explained that the dentist had advised her to postpone any work on her smile until after the pregnancy and lactation.

The influencer mused: ‘It looks like these teeth are going to stick around for a while even though I feel SO self conscious about them atm!

“I think literally anything that could get into your system and harm your baby obviously has to be avoided… even dental work!”
