Moises Caicedo was absent from Brighton training today as he tries to push through his move to Chelsea.
However, chief executive Paul Barber had previously stressed that the club expects him to be available for their Premier League opener at home to Luton Town on Saturday.
Caicedo was not involved in his team’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
It comes as Brighton and Chelsea are locked in a stalemate, with the Seagulls rejecting an £80 million bid from the Blues to sign the Ecuadorian last week, but it looks like they are ready to give up their attempts to sign him again. to perform.
