Mohammed Kudus will travel to London on Saturday for his medical treatment at West Ham, after a fee of £38 million and a five-year contract were agreed with Ajax and the player.

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten flew to Razgrad, Bulgaria on Thursday to watch Kudus score a hat-trick in his final match for Ajax against Ludogorets.

Although that was in the Europa League, he is still eligible to represent West Ham in the competition this season.

Steidten and Kudus, the 23-year-old Ghana international, will fly back to London on a private jet today Saturday to complete the transfer package, which is worth €41.5 million plus €3 million in add-ons (£35.5 million plus £ 2.5 million).

Kudus will be West Ham’s fourth summer signing – after Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos – when he puts pen to paper on a five-year deal.

West Ham insiders believe Kudus will be their signing for the summer, after the striker has been pursued by numerous other clubs, including Brighton. Arsenal and Chelsea had also shown interest in him.

The Hammers received £105 million from Arsenal for Declan Rice and have now spent most of that money.
