Mohamed Salah shared a heartwarming moment with a young Liverpool mascot as the youngster named Steven Gerrard as her favorite Reds player of all time.

The Egyptian is loved by Reds supporters and took time before the match to enjoy a memorable moment with the boyhood Liverpool fanatic.

Salah and the child were lucky enough to act as mascots for Liverpool's recent UEFA Europa League home match and discussed their former heroes at Anfield.

Salah appeared to ask who her favorite Liverpool player was and was in turn told that the legendary captain, Gerrard, was her top choice as the pair chatted in the tunnel.

The Englishman led the club to success in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup, making 710 appearances in the North West before moving to MLS in the final years of his playing career.

Gerrard retired seven years ago and is now embarking on a managerial career in Saudi Arabia, having previously coached at Aston Villa and Rangers.

However, it seems that local boy Gerrard is still held in high regard by even the youngest Liverpool fans, and Salah found that out first-hand.

A viral video shows Salah reacting after finding out he wasn't her favorite player, saying: 'but you haven't even seen Gerrard play', before the pair laugh together.

There is also another mascot present. The short conversation ends with Salah laughing and rubbing the heads of one of the children before heading out to the field.

Liverpool then won the Europa League match against Austrian side LASK 4-0, with Salah scoring from the penalty spot.
