Mohamed Elneny vowed to ‘give everything’ to help Arsenal reach their potential after signing a one-year contract extension with the club.

The Egyptian midfielder joined the Basel Gunners in 2016 and is now set for an eighth year at the Emirates Stadium after pledging his future with the north London outfit until 2024.

He is the club’s longest-serving player and has spoken of his pride in the team’s progress since he arrived.

“I am very happy, I love this club and our supporters so much and I will give everything to help us be the best we can be, every day I am here,” Elneny said. Arsenal official website after signing his new contract.

Elneny has played 155 games in his seven years at Arsenal and has rejoined Mikel Arteta’s plans after his loan to Besiktas for the 2019-20 season.

The 30-year-old has had an injury-plagued campaign as he battled with a thigh problem early on, before picking up a serious knee injury in training last month.

He underwent surgery after his latest setback and could miss the rest of the season, leaving him to watch his teammates try to win the Premier League title for the first time in 19 years.

His contract expired in June, but despite his health problems this term, Arteta has opted to keep him at the club for another year.
