Mohamed El Bizry: Principal of Bankstown Islamic home school centre the Sunnah Life Academy charged with rape and choking
The founder of an Islamic homeschooling center has been accused of rape and suffocation.
Mohamed El Bizry, 41, the founder and director of Sunna Life Academy (SLA) in Bankstown in Sydney’s south-west, was arrested at a property in Edmondson Park on October 21.
He was charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, two counts of intentional choking without consent and one count of common assault. He has since been given strict bail conditions after forfeiting a $10,000 bond. The Sydney Morning Herald.

He has yet to enter a plea and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court on December 13.
El Bizry, also known as Muhammad Al-Bizry, founded SLA in 2019.
It describes itself as an “Islamic and holistic, grouped homeschooling center, running up to three days a week” for years from kindergarten through 10 years.
Its website says it has helped accredit 634 students with homeschooling approvals from the NSW Education Standards Authority.
The alleged assaults date back to 2021 and do not involve any students.
Under his bail conditions, El Bizry is not allowed to leave his home except to go to work, file a police report, attend legal meetings, appear in court or receive medical treatment.
He must also be of good behavior and report to Bankstown police station daily.
