Julie Bowen has given a sneak peek at what the humor in the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore sequel will be like.
The American actress, 54, played the love interest of the titular character (Adam Sandler) in the original film, which has since become a cult comedy classic.

‘I think that’s comedy [as a genre] has become less targeted and hurtful. I don’t put that on Adam,” she told the publication.
‘I’m just saying that gender slurs or [jokes about] sexual orientations that you simply wouldn’t make anymore.
“You would cringe at things that were completely accepted 20 years ago. And thank God. I hope I’m not on screen doing stuff like that, but maybe I am.’
Despite the different approach Hollywood star Adam, 58, appears to be taking in the sequel to his iconic hit film, some things will remain the same.
Julie assured the main character Happy Gilmore “hasn’t changed much” and “still isn’t happy all the time or he’d be boring.”
