A model who smoked weed every day for nine years has revealed the horrific withdrawal symptoms she went through after giving it up for good.

Suede Brooks, from Las Vegas, Nevada, took to TikTok to speak candidly about her cannabis use, which has seen her ingest a pound of marijuana every three months.

The 22-year-old, who reported smoking the substance since she was just 13, shared how she experienced cold sweats, vomiting and insomnia after kicking the habit.

But Suede said quitting was “the best thing she could have ever done,” as followers rushed to praise her for moving on with her life.

Health effects of long-term marijuana use

Marijuana use directly affects the brain, specifically the parts of the brain responsible for memory, learning, attention, decision making, coordination, emotion and reaction time.

Long-term or frequent use of marijuana has been associated with an increased risk of psychosis or schizophrenia in some users, according to the CDC.

But one study published in 2019 found that the ‘learning and memory impairments’ caused by heavy and dependent cannabis use ‘seemed to recover after a period of abstinence’.

In the clip, which has been viewed more than two million times, Suede sits in her room wearing a white bra as she talks to the camera about her struggles.

She begins, “I’m officially two months sober from smoking. Let’s talk about it.’

The YouTuber continued, “I’ve smoked every day for the past nine years and I haven’t taken a break. I finally noticed.

“The hardest part was the first week. I got cold sweats, vomited, couldn’t sleep – it was seriously the worst. I don’t really wish that feeling on anyone.

‘I never drink. I find it disgusting. I’ve just never been a fan of it, so when I went out I just smoke…

And for a long time I never thought I had a problem with it until I realized how much money I was spending.

“I went through a pound every three months — and if you smoke weed, you know how expensive that is.”

As of January 2023, a pound of cannabis reportedly cost $1,298, according to Statisticalbut the price has fluctuated in recent years.

This means that Suede spends more than $5,100 a year on marijuana.

The influencer continued, “Now we’re getting into the changes I’ve felt over the past two months when I was sober. Like I said, the first week was absolutely miserable, but once you get over the first week it gets easier and easier.

“I feel so much more confident. I feel like I’m actually on the same wavelength as everyone in the universe, which is a really weird feeling.

“I can actually leave my house now without anxiety attacks… Overall I feel so much more energized, I feel so much more inspired to create content – I always felt like I never wanted to film when I was high, and actually I was high all the time.’

In her videos, Suede talked about her daily life and showed her personal style, skin care routine and her favorite makeup looks.

In 2022, she was in a relationship with rapper Drake, who is almost 15 years older than her.

A source told ET at the time the pair were “having fun together” and “yacht hopping.”

The duo, who have many friends in common, were reportedly seen “sweetly” “whispering in each other’s ears and laughing” at a hangout in St. Tropez – but the relationship is not thought to develop further.
