An influencer and model has revealed that her dream of becoming a mother was dashed after having too many filler injections.
Jennifer Pamplona, 31, is often in the news for her “surgery addict” lifestyle, spending over $1 million to look like her idol Kim Kardashian.
But now she has received the heartbreaking news that the chances of pregnancy are slim due to complications from the butt fillers.
Jennifer Pamplona began plastic surgery at the age of 17
The model says she has had more than 30 procedures on her body and face
“I always dreamed of being a mother,” Jennifer, who has a million followers on Instagram (@jenniferpamplona), told Need To Know.
‘From a young age I fantasized about the moment when I would have children of my own and start a family.
‘Now I realize that I was destroyed by something that I thought was a solution to improve my appearance.
‘The suffering is immense and the pain of not being able to create life is something I never expected.’
Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is a substance used in the production of dermal fillers, often to improve skin contours or help repair scars.
It is also the best option for buttock augmentation.
However, there are risks involved, such as inflammation and infections.
This can cause the substance to migrate from the injection site to other parts of the body, including the pelvic area, which may affect the functioning of the reproductive organs.
According to Dr. Carlos Rios, the plastic surgeon who specialized in Jennifer’s case, she began experiencing severe pain in her buttocks and legs after surgery more than 10 years ago.
He spoke about the model and the complications she faced as a result in a documentary he produced called Addiction, calling her situation a “matter of life and death.”
Dr Rios said: ‘Jennifer had PMMA injected into her buttocks during a procedure called bioplasty.
The symptoms she exhibited were a direct result of this procedure.
She was hanging by a thread.
‘With meditation, a good diet, supplements and medication we have been able to stabilize her for the time being.
“It was a matter of life and death.”
She only decided to stop her plastic surgery after being diagnosed with body dysmorphia in 2022
Dr. Carlos Rios, Jennifer’s plastic surgeon, said she began experiencing severe pain in her buttocks and legs more than 10 years ago
Jennifer began plastic surgery at the age of 17 and has since undergone over 30 procedures on her body and face.
She only decided to quit after being diagnosed with body dysmorphia in 2022.
She is currently going through a period of great suffering and coping with the complications.
She is also awaiting reconstructive surgery in Colombia.
She added: ‘I have severe limitations and I don’t know what the future holds.
‘I knew I had a problem, but I hadn’t found a solution yet.
‘I like to say that if everyone paid attention to their emotional health, the frequency of interventions would decrease.
“But it’s important to note that I’m not against plastic surgery, as long as you do it consciously.”
