Model Megan Marx told she shouldn’t be in Playboy because of her disability

Megan Marx was recently crowned ‘Front Page of the Day’ on Playboy’s new creator platform, which has been heralded as an ‘elevated’ alternative to the raunchy OnlyFans.

But despite the former Bachelor star’s success on the iconic website, she’s been targeted by a vicious troll who said her disability makes her unsuitable to model for Playboy.

Earlier this year, Megan was diagnosed with a rare degenerative neurological disease called spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA6).

The reality star was doing an Instagram Q&A about her work with Playboy when a troll wrote: “No one wants to see someone with a disability in Playboy.” It’s embarrassing that you’re there.

In response, Megan wrote: “I would love to play the victim and pretend your words have hurt me but they haven’t really.”

Earlier this year, Megan was diagnosed with a rare degenerative neurological disease called spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA6).

‘No one knows how many healthy years it has left, or years at all, but I certainly have an idea of how my body wants to experience the world while it can. My body.’

She continued: ‘Travelling, diving, writing books, painting, sailing, making love to my handsome boyfriend. Earn money to be able to do all these things.

‘FYI – Every person with a disability not only has the right to feel sexy, but to be perceived as sexy. “No one wants to see”, huh? My bank account says otherwise, idiot.

While the 33-year-old has yet to reveal her official Playboy earnings, she hinted this week that she’s already earning a six-figure salary after just three weeks on the platform.

The 33-year-old responded to the vicious troll in a lengthy post on Instagram on Saturday.

It comes after Megan shared her heartbreaking diagnosis in an Instagram post in January, while assuring fans that she remains optimistic.

‘Waiting months for the results of the genetic tests, I met with the neurologist on Friday. News shit. Diagnosis. some tears while [Megan’s boyfriend] Keith took over the conversation,’ he began.

The blonde, who rose to fame on Ritchie Strahan’s 2016 season of The Bachelor, revealed her remarkably positive attitude after learning she will suffer from progressively worsening muscle control issues.

“I am grateful for my physical body right now, in its current state, before neurological degeneration tries to take something from me,” she wrote.

All the screaming about making love and skinny dipping and walking and painting and eating and dancing badly and horrible conversations in bars. I actually feel completely grateful. Many have worse diagnoses. Just a bit of processing to do. A lot to live for, ”she concluded.

Spinocerebellar ataxia type 6 (SCA6) is a neurological condition characterized by movement problems of late onset and slow progression.

SCA6 symptoms can include coordination problems, stumbling, imbalance, and in some cases, slurred speech.

The rare disorder, which affects 1 in 100,000, is not curable and there is no specific treatment to slow or stop its progression.

However, there are several therapies that can help control the symptoms.

Megan’s post was inundated with comments from her friends wishing her all the best, including Bachelor star Brittany Hockley, who wrote: “Honey… I’m just a call away if you need anything.”

Reality star Megan, best known for MTV’s The Bachelor and The Challenge, has become a top Playboy creator since joining the site earlier this month.

Just two weeks after being approved as a creator, Megan was named Playboy.com’s ‘Front Page of the Day’ and also became the website’s top trending model.

He previously appeared topless on the cover of Maxim Australia with fellow Bachelor star Tiffany Scanlon, with whom he was in a relationship at the time.

The model, who grew up in a strict religious cult, said it was Playboy’s dedication to sexual freedom that inspired her to sign up.

What is spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA6)?

Spinocerebellar ataxia type 6 (SCA6) is a neurological condition characterized by movement problems of late onset and slow progression.

It is caused by mutations in the CACNA1A gene and affects 1 in 100,000. In most cases, an affected person has a parent who also has the condition.

The severity of symptoms varies considerably. Early symptoms of SCA6 can include coordination problems, stumbling, imbalance, and in some cases, slurred speech.

As the condition progresses, the sufferer may experience more extreme incoordination of the lower and upper extremities, tremors, and slurred speech. Double vision and other visual impairments may also occur.

In late stages, the sufferer may also have difficulty swallowing.

Although there is no specific treatment to slow or stop the progression of SCA6, there are several therapies that can help control symptoms. SCA6 is not fatal.
