Moana live action star Catherine Laga’aia FALLS while filming scene in Hawaii
Moana actress Catherine Laga’aia fell on a beach in Hawaii while filming the upcoming live-action movie.
The 17-year-old Australian actress – who was spotted days ago with co-star John Tui – was surrounded by a film crew when she fell onto the sandy beach.
The rising star was dressed in the titular character’s signature burnt orange top and traditional beige hula skirt in the scene.
Her dark brown waves fell around her as she worked and she was barefoot.
Missing from the scene was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 52, who reprises his role as demigod Maui from the original animated film.
The live-action film day comes when Moana 2 hits the box office.

Weeks before its November 27 release, it was predicted to do well at the box office.
Per TermAdam Aron, CEO of AMC Theaters, said during a quarterly earnings call: “Some people in the know are telling me that Moana 2 could even eclipse and surpass the success of Inside Out 2.”
It comes after earlier reports that pre-orders for day one tickets for the Moana sequel surpassed the year’s record for animated films, behind Deadpool & Wolverine, Wicked and Dune: Part 2.
The film is expected to gross more than $100 million from Wednesday through Sunday.
So far, Inside Out 2 is the highest-grossing film of 2024, with worldwide revenue of over $1.6 billion.
In early October, Johnson took to Instagram to tease Moana’s follow-up.
The veteran entertainer shared the latest movie poster and trailer via his 395 million followers.
In a joint post with Disney, a caption read: “Go on an epic adventure with #Moana2, only in theaters November 27!;

It was then confirmed in August that they would both be reprising their roles.
