My Kitchen Rules stars Carly Saunders and Tresne Middleton have announced the sad news that their baby daughter Poppy Grace has died at the age of 20 months.
The couple, who had been documenting their journey raising a sick girl, told their Instagram followers on Thursday that their baby girl had lost her battle with leukaemia.
They posted a photo of their son on their joint account and wrote: ‘This morning we lost our precious baby girl Poppy Grace.
True to form, he fought tooth and nail until his last breath. His leukemia took over and in his last blood the explosions were 787,000. That fighting spirit was so prominent throughout their entire battle and was so evident in the last four traumatic days.
‘Poppy showed us what it’s like to be grateful and happy with whatever card you’re dealt.

The mothers said their baby had made the most of his little time in the world.
“She made the most of her time on Earth, dancing, laughing and smiling until days after the finale. She was loving, fun and caring. She was smart and empathetic.
‘She had a heart of gold and she shined so brightly, overflowing with joy. We are honored to be her mom and we didn’t take a second of that for granted, not a second.
“She taught us a lot in her short 20 months and we have never experienced such an all-encompassing love.”
The mothers said they were “very sorry” to share the news with their followers, some of whom had donated blood, money and gifts to their daughter, and others who were living with leukemia.
“We know that there were so many children, teenagers and adults following their journey and we don’t want to hurt their beautiful hearts,” they continued.
‘Please tell them that Poppy’s star shines brightly on them encouraging them to be strong when faced with adversity and to make the most of life and all its brilliant opportunities.’
Carly and Tresne created a Lifeblood donation group in Poppy’s name, where their supporters can come together to donate blood and hopefully help sick adults and children like Poppy.

“She has encouraged many of us to stand up and help others by donating blood. Please continue to donate blood in her name.
We will rise again for Poppy. We still don’t know what that looks like: we are lost and our purpose is gone.
But we will be back soon and we will live life to the fullest in his honor. There is much to build on from the experiences we have had, much to share, and many ways we can improve the lives of children oncologists and their parents.
