Radio host Shane Lowe has parted ways with Adelaide’s Mix 102.3 FM.
The popular breakfast presenter said he only discovered he had been axed from the Max & Ali show when he returned from his Christmas break.
Lowe posted on his Facebook on Friday thanking his fans and adding that he no longer had any “role” on the channel.
Lowe also used his message to point out that the station had made no official announcement about the changes to their morning lineup or its abolition.
Until the new year, the struggling Mix 102.3 program was known as The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show, with presenter Clarke and Max Burford alongside Eddie Bannon and Lowe.

But last week, listeners learned that the show’s name had been changed to The Max and Ali Show.
“Soooo… life update,” Lowe sent fans on Facebook.
‘You may not have heard, but I was told that I was no longer needed for the Mix 102.3 breakfast show after returning from my Christmas break.
‘I was also told that after working on Ali Clarke’s breakfast show for three years, I would no longer be playing a role on Mix at all in 2024. Umm…Okay….
You may not have known this, probably because no one outside the company was ever told.

“So it may seem like nothing happened, lol… But it did.”
He also used the message to pay tribute to Clarke.
“To the wonderful Ali Clarke: I have never known anyone as caring, supportive and thoughtful as you have always been, but especially in recent weeks,” he wrote.
The advertiser reported on Saturday that a spokesperson for ARN, owners of Mix 102.3 FM, had made a statement about the changes to the breakfast lineup:
“Mix 102.3 unveiled this year’s breakfast show as Max & Ali in the Morning, making Adelaide the best start to the day in Adelaide,” they said.
‘We thank Shane for his time with Mix and wish him all the best for the future.’

It comes after The Ali Clarke Show finished fourth in the latest 2023 radio ratings survey.
Triple M’s breakfast team landed top spot in the Adelaide breakfast radio wars with a 16.3 percent share of listeners.
It was then a race to the bottom for runners-up, with ABC Adelaide in second place with an 11.8 percent share, and FIVEaa in third place with an 11.4 percent share.
Meanwhile, Clarke’s old team, including Lowe, achieved a 10.1 percent audience share.
