A beat-up Mitsubishi Lancer has its hood missing and a door has been seized after its owner was caught driving the rust-and-graffiti-strewn car on a public road

The 18-year-old owner – who bought the car for just $100 – was stopped by traffic police on Tuesday on Guildford Road in Bayswater, northeast of Perth.

Photographs taken by the Western Australia Police Department show that one of the green saloon’s rear doors and bonnet were missing, along with the rear bumper and license plate.

Every panel on the car was damaged and it had rusty windshield wipers, bald tires and a missing driver’s side handle.

Graffiti was applied to the front and rear windows with some spray-painting, including the tags “cop hunta” and “f** cops.”

The exact condition of the car’s engine and powertrain is unknown.

The owner, an Orelia man, allegedly told police he drove the vehicle home and paid $100 for it. Now Perth reported.

He was arrested and charged with not having the license to drive.

The 18-year-old also faces separate charges after he was reportedly found with a taser.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on April 24.
