Mitchell Robinson's high school coach revealed he lives near the Knicks center when he told an extremely moving story Thursday night.

Butch Stockton, for whom Robinson played at Chalmette High School in Louisiana, was present when his former player faced the Pistons at Madison Square Garden.

And the coach, who lost his wife Dawn to cancer this summer, said Robinson had invited him to stay with him to “recover his thoughts” after his partner of 31 years passed away.

“When my wife was in the hospital, Mitchell came to visit her every day,” Stockton said while being interviewed by MSG Network's Rebecca Haarlow. 'I became close with myself and my wife and after the funeral Mitchell told everyone he was taking me to New York.

“He said, 'Coach, there's no reason to stay here in Louisiana anymore.' You come to New York and enjoy it and relax again because you know how much you loved your wife.”
