The daughter and son-in-law of Missouri politician Ben Baker were murdered in Haiti while working as missionaries.
Deputy Baker said in a post on his social media that his daughter Natalie and son-in-law Davy were attacked by gangs on Thursday evening.
In an emotional statement, Baker said: “My heart is broken into a million pieces. I’ve never felt this kind of pain before.
“Most of you know that my daughter and son-in-law, Davy and Natalie Lloyd, are full-time missionaries in Haiti.
‘They were attacked by gangs this evening and were both killed. They went to heaven together.”
Haiti descended into chaos after attacks in February in which gunmen took control of police stations and attacked the capital Port-au-Prince’s airport.
Rep. Baker said in a post on his social media that his daughter Natalie and son-in-law Davy, seen here, were attacked by gangs Thursday evening
Baker added: “Please pray for my family, we are in dire need of strength. And please pray for the Lloyd family as well. I have no other words for now.’
The couple worked for Missions in Haiti and shared an update on what happened to the couple.
In a post on their social media, the organization said the two were ambushed by a gang of three truckloads of men after coming out of the church.
The group said Davy was taken to a house, tied up and then beaten before the gang stole the group’s trucks and everything they had.
After that gang left the area, another gang arrived, shooting and killing one member, sending them into ‘full attack mode’, according to the charity.
