A Mississippi police officer was caught shoplifting while on duty at Dick’s Sporting Goods while wearing her police uniform.
Robin Conner, 33, was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing a pair of shoes worth $140 from the retailer.
Conner had worked as a police officer with the Columbus Police Department for two years and was on duty at the time of the alleged crime, Police Chief Joseph Daughtry confirmed.
The alleged thief was in uniform and driving a police car during her shoplifting spree.
Officers were called to Dick’s Sporting Gods in Columbus around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon.

After being taken to jail in her own cruiser, Conner was then booked into the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
Conner was given an $862 bond and has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
“We have work to do and we have to meet a higher standard. And the community is just starting to trust us, and taking this hit really hurts,” Daughtry said.
“That’s why we’ve fulfilled our obligation, not only to the store but also to the community.”

Conner had recently shared a post on her Facebook account with selfies of her in her officer uniform with the caption “Happy National Law Enforcement Day” accompanied by three heart emojis.

People commented following the news of her alleged shoplifting, with one user joking: ‘I would have bought you shoes.’
“Wait, did you just get charged with shoplifting while on the clock, in uniform and in your patrol car? Such a shame for the badge,” said another user.
The police officer even used her personal Facebook account to share messages on behalf of the Columbus Police Department, including one that said, “FAmily and friends please stay home, off the roads. Are It’s going to get worse and it will turn to black ice tonight. Please and thank you, Columbus Police Department.”
She also used her Facebook page to share cocktail recipes, her extensive perfume collection and many photos from her service as a police officer.
