A missing Oregon mother of three was found dead outside a barn in neighboring Washington state after an alleged killer allegedly took her and left her there.
Joanna Speaks, 32, was found April 8 in Ridgefield, Washington, with authorities suggesting her body had been “moved” there.
She had been killed by blunt force trauma to her head and neck, with her death ruled a homicide.
Whatever happened, her family believes she died trying to defend herself, sister Robyn Speaks said.
“She was fearless,” her sister said KOIN. “I guarantee she fought back.”

The county sheriff’s office was investigating her death as a homicide.
A suspect has not yet been identified and police in Clark County Oregon are still investigating.
Speaks had a 7-year-old daughter and two teenage sons, according to her sister Robyn and stepsister Ariel Hamby.
“It keeps me up at night thinking whoever did this to her is blunt force trauma to the head and neck, I mean, violent, and that person is walking around,” Hamby said.
Robyn Speaks and Hamby both admitted that Jordan, who had struggled with addiction over the years, had not had contact with them since March, according to KGW.
But in the end they are just as stunned as anyone who committed this gruesome murder.
“We’re not a giving up family and we’re not going to give up trying to find answers… we’re doing what we can to get some kind of peace for her,” said Robyn Speaks.
A GoFundMe has been started for the specific purpose of giving Speaks a proper burial, for the sake of her children.
