Missing Florida mom Shakeira Rucker, 37, is found dead with gunshot wounds inside her estranged husband, Cory Hill’s, storage unit a week after she was last seen leaving her home with him as police name him the prime suspect

The body of a missing mother of four was found Saturday evening in her husband’s storage unit in Florida.

Shakeira Rucker, 37, was last seen on Nov. 11 at a restaurant with her estranged partner, Cory Hill, 51. Now, Hill is in custody on unrelated attempted murder charges against another woman and is believed to be the prime suspect in Rucker’s death.

Rucker was last heard from by family members when she told them she was going to buy some food and go home for the evening of the 11th. She was the mother of two boys, 7 and 18, and two girls, 9 and 16. A GoFundMe A page has been created for them.

“Shakeira’s family has been informed this evening. We grieve with them and our detectives are committed to bringing them justice in this case,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

On the night of November 11, Rucker was seen on surveillance video with Hill. Earlier that evening, police say he shot his ex-girlfriend during a domestic dispute. Rucker’s death was the result of gunshot wounds, police said.

“I heard gunshots. I felt two of them go past my face,” Angel Milligan said in an interview with WESH. Hill was arrested the next day, November 12.

Last Saturday, authorities responded to a Your Storage Unit in the city of Apopka, just north of Orlando, after someone called police about a strange odor.

Authorities say Hill is refusing to talk to investigators about Rucker’s death. He has not been charged in connection with the murder.

Orange County Sheriff John Mina said Sunday that Cory Hill “could have stopped a lot of pain and suffering by talking to investigators from the beginning instead of putting them through this week-long nightmare.”

‘He’s the suspect. We are not looking for anyone else. In this case, he will ultimately be charged with the murder,” Mina said.

At the time authorities got the call about the storage unit, officers were at an area airport looking for Rucker.

Hill previously spent 20 years in prison in Virginia on murder charges after being found guilty of second-degree murder, reports said WFTV.

‘I just want my mother to come back. It’s hard that she’s not here because I’m always with her. It’s like I can’t live without her. She’s the only one I know,” her daughter, Mikayla Johnson, 16, told Fox Orlando.

On Sunday, Rucker’s family gathered at a park in Pine Hills to celebrate her life.

‘I feel heartbroken to hear the news of my sister’s death and the manner in which she was found, it is devastating. We are grieving right now because it has not even been 24 hours since we heard the news, but we are strong here,” her brother Clarence said. Spectrum News.

“She was a caring person, she cared about her children. All she wanted to do was work, go to church and just live. You know it and have fun. “She just wanted to work and take care of her kids, the little things,” he added.

Thornton also expressed anger at the investigation, saying family members previously tried to alert police to the storage unit.

“Very disappointed because we told them it could be the storage because all his furniture wasn’t in the house,” Thornton said.

He also wondered why no one working at the storage facility noticed anything unusual.

Regarding Hill’s fate, Thornton said simply, “He must go down for everything, everything he is.”

‘My sister should never have been in that situation. “Never in a million years would I have thought my sister would have ever been in that situation,” he added.

State’s Attorney Andrew Bain was present with the girl.

“I’m just here to show my support for her family and make sure they get everything they need from my office. We will deal with them first and then we will deal with the case,” he told the media.
