Missing Briton who disappeared in Bangkok has been found safe after a two-week search… after his family were told he had flown 5,000 MILES away
A British tourist who mysteriously disappeared during a trip to Thailand has been found safe after his family were told he had flown 5,000 miles away.
Simon Robinson, 27, from Skegness, Lincolnshire, was due to fly back to the UK on July 26 but never boarded the plane home, sparking a two-week search.
The last signal from his phone was detected in Bangkok and he disappeared five minutes before reaching Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
This week, Mr Robinson’s family was told that he had indeed boarded a flight to Finland.
The 27-year-old was then scheduled to take a connecting flight from Helsinki to Manchester, but that did not happen.
His sister has confirmed that Mr Robinson has been found safe and well, but his whereabouts are still unknown.

She told the Sun: ‘Simon called me and apologized. He’s okay, thankfully.
“He didn’t say (where he was). I’m just so glad he’s okay.”
She added that her brother has not confirmed whether or not he would be returning to the UK.
Mr Robinson flew to Thailand alone on July 22 and initially planned to stay until August 3.
But on July 26, he called his girlfriend to say he would come early, but after that nothing was heard from him for two weeks.
Concerned family and friends said they had previously contacted the British Embassy in Bangkok for help in locating Mr Robinson.
When no progress was made in the case, they sought help via social media.
Simon’s friend, Sam Champ, posted a photo of him online on August 2: ‘One of my dear friends has disappeared in Bangkok. He has not been heard from since July 26.
‘He was supposed to board a flight that day, but he didn’t show up. Yesterday was his 27th birthday and everyone is very worried.

‘He has been reported missing. I have attached a photo of him, his name is Simon Robinson and he is from Lincolnshire.
“If anyone would like to share this message with someone in Bangkok or Thailand, I would be very grateful.”
Robinson’s sister Sarah said she had received “hundreds of messages” while he was still missing, after online appeals were launched to find him.
She thanked people for sharing photos of her brother and urged people in Bangkok who had seen the posts to keep an eye out for him.
