The body of a missing Argentine is found inside a SHARK after a 32-year-old man disappeared while driving an all-terrain vehicle on the coastal road: the family is forced to identify the remains by a tattoo on his arm

  • The remains of Diego Barría were found inside a shark captured on Sunday by two fishermen in Chubut, Argentina.
  • The 32-year-old had been missing since February 18 after he went out for a ride on his four-wheeler.
  • The vehicle was found on February 20 near a beach, but there was no sign of his body.

The remains of a married father of three who was reported missing in Argentina were found inside a shark that was caught by fishermen.

Diego Barría disappeared on February 18 after he went for a ride in his all-terrain vehicle through the southern province of Chubut.

The 32-year-old man’s wrecked ATV was found by a search team on a beach near Rocas Coloradas on February 20. They also located Barría’s helmet, which was dented and broken near the chin area.

On Sunday, two fishermen caught three schooling sharks around 8:30 am near where Barría’s ATV was located and made the gruesome discovery while cleaning one of the sharks.

“I was so unlucky that I found it myself,” one of the fishermen said in an audio clip of a conversation obtained by the Argentine newspaper Diario Jornada. “I went fishing and ripped open the shark’s belly and found a forearm with a tattoo on it.”

Barría’s family was able to confirm that it was him because of the pink, green and red tattoo that had the name ‘Josefina’ inscribed on it.

Barría was last seen on February 18 at 10:30 p.m. after he went out for a walk in the countryside.

It is said that he greeted three fishermen friends and another person, who was the last to see him alive.

Authorities are investigating whether a second vehicle was involved in an accident with Diego Barría’s ATV

The undersecretary of Civil Protection, José Mazeei, said that investigators have been looking into the strange disappearance.

Mazeei indicated that they have two hypotheses. One points to the fact that Barría was injured in an accident and the other that he was lying unconscious on the beach before the tides pushed his body out of the sea.

Authorities have also been investigating whether another vehicle was involved in the accident.

The police chief of Comodoro Rivadavia, Cristian Ansaldo, told local media that a DNA test will be carried out to confirm that it is Barría.

Barría’s heartbroken wife, Virginia Brugger, took to Instagram to share an image of them smiling together on Sunday.

My heart went with you! I love you forever,’ she wrote.
