β€œI could hear all the glass behind me breaking and the metal cracking.”

The beauty queen was taken to hospital where she was treated for her injuries and has thankfully since recovered.

The ambitious psychotherapy student emigrated from Russia to Perth at the age of eight and was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2021.

She won the title while sitting at home in her Melbourne apartment watching the national finals, which were held virtually for the second year in a row due to the pandemic.

The blonde beauty, who describes herself as ‘born in Russia, raised in Western Australia and living in Melbourne’, first entered the pageant at the age of 19 but was devastated when she didn’t make it to the state finals. In 2020 she became fourth runner-up.

Persistence paid off for the self-confessed ‘travel addict’ as she triumphed in a field of 29 finalists, with Mia Brooks from New South Wales coming in second.
