Former Miss Universe Australia Daria Varlamova rushed to hospital after car accident that left her with head injury
Daria Varlamova has revealed she suffered a concussion in a car accident on Good Friday.
The former Miss Universe Australia suffered concussion and whiplash after her car was hit from behind by a minibus on Victoria’s Calder Highway.
“I was eating my protein ball in the back, I was in the backseat and before I knew it there was a big crash and the car suddenly stopped,” the 28-year-old told the Herald Sun.
“I could hear all the glass behind me breaking and the metal cracking.”
The beauty queen was taken to hospital where she was treated for her injuries and has thankfully since recovered.

‘It can happen so quickly, and it can happen to anyone. Be careful,” Daria later said on Instagram.
“For me, this experience was more mentally shocking than anything,” the model continued.
‘As a former first responder, I once cared for a young man who was in a car accident (the other driver was at fault).
“His life was turned upside down by someone’s recklessness,” she wrote.

The ambitious psychotherapy student emigrated from Russia to Perth at the age of eight and was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2021.
She won the title while sitting at home in her Melbourne apartment watching the national finals, which were held virtually for the second year in a row due to the pandemic.
The blonde beauty, who describes herself as ‘born in Russia, raised in Western Australia and living in Melbourne’, first entered the pageant at the age of 19 but was devastated when she didn’t make it to the state finals. In 2020 she became fourth runner-up.
Persistence paid off for the self-confessed ‘travel addict’ as she triumphed in a field of 29 finalists, with Mia Brooks from New South Wales coming in second.
