Miss Sassy’s TRUE fate revealed after JD Vance campaign claims adorable cat was devoured by Haitian migrants

In the Ohio city of Springfield, reports have surfaced that illegal immigrants are stealing and eating residents’ pets.

This unusual storyline is being continued by Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance of Ohio.

And while Vance said at two campaign rallies in the Midwest on Tuesday that at least dozens of people have shared their stories with his office, his campaign specifically pointed to a police report that the The Wall Street Journal now says it has been debunked.

Anna Kilgore told police she believed her Haitian neighbors had stolen her cat, Miss Sassy.

When the Journal tracked her down, Kilgnore was wearing a Trump-Vance hat and said her missing cat had turned up a few days after she reported it. The resident said she used a translation app to apologize to her neighbors for accusing them.

ALIVE AND WELL: Miss Sassy is the cat at the center of an Ohio woman’s claim that her Haitian neighbors stole her pet. But now it’s been revealed that the cat turned up days after owner Anna Kilgore filed a police report

Kilgore wrote on Facebook on August 27, “My cat is missing.”

“She’s Mane (sic) Coon, her name is Miss Sassy Pants,” she continued. “She’s part of the family. If you’ve seen her or know where she is, I’ll give you money. Please bring her home alive.”

The news is currently dominated by outrage from Republicans over the alleged eating of cats and ducks by illegal immigrants, while Democrats are furious about the “hateful rhetoric” they say is racist toward migrants coming from countries where animals considered pets in the US would otherwise be on the menu.

With this topic, Vance focuses on the general frustration of residents of the Ohio city, which has been flooded with illegal immigrants in recent years.

“Senator Vance has received numerous messages from Springfield residents about the disastrous impact Kamala Harris’ immigration policies are having on their hometown: a shortage of affordable housing, overburdened public services, declining public safety and an increase in infectious diseases,” a spokesperson for Vance told DailyMail.com.

“It is outrageous that the media is ignoring these real concerns and deliberately distorting Senator Vance’s words,” they added.

During Tuesday’s discussion of the matter, Vance repeatedly said the allegations are based on reports and that it is the media’s job to verify whether the rumors are true or not, while it is his job as a senator to believe his constituents and their complaints.

Speaking to CNN on Sunday, Vance said the US media is “creating” the scandal and making sure people pay more attention to it than they otherwise would.

According to Vance, the bigger problem is not the pet-eating story, but the fact that Springfield has problems stemming from the influx of migrants.

During a Senate hearing in July, Vance questioned Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell about the role immigration plays in the deteriorating housing and labor markets.

He quoted a letter from the city of Springfield at the time, which said, “Springfield has experienced population growth due to immigration, which has had a significant impact on our ability as a community to create adequate housing for everyone.”

“Springfield’s Haitian population has increased by 15,000 to 20,000 over the past four years, from a previous population of less than 60,000. This places a significant strain on our resources and our ability to provide adequate housing for all of our residents,” the report said.
