Miriam Margolyes praised after admitting role in Harry Potter franchise ‘wasn’t important’ to her
She played the role of the beloved Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter franchise.
But Miriam Margolyes has candidly revealed that her role as a herbalist teacher was ‘not important’ to her, much to the delight of fans.
The actress, 82, was praised for her ‘unfiltered’ honesty after she made the admission in an interview with British Vogue.
Miriam played the character in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets released in 2002 and in 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
Telling the glossy magazine, ‘Harry Potter wasn’t important to me. I was very happy to get the part and I enjoyed being in it and meeting all the people, but it’s not Charles Dickens.’

The theater star, who toured in her own women’s show based on works by Victorian author Dickenshowever revealed the positive impact the role has had on her life.
Saying, “People come up to me and say ‘I just love you’ and want to hug me.” And that is dazzling.’
Following the confession, fans took to Twitter with one writing, “Miriam being so effortlessly unfiltered is truly amazing.”
While another said, ‘She’s so real about this’ and a third repeated the statement, ‘She’s so real about that’.
Someone else jumped to the star’s defense after receiving backlash from Harry Potter fans saying, “She barely got anything to do with her tole.” What did they expect?’.
Miriam revealed them last year received just £60,000 for her share of the highest-grossing film franchises in history.
She admitted that she was not impressed with the salary at the time, but has benefited from the role ever since.
Speak against Subway, Miriam said, ‘I never made Harry Potter millions. I think the three or four main people did and they deserve it, but not my character.

While discussing the shoot on GMB, Susanna held the two croissants to her chest and said, “I got a new top this morning…”

Her co-host Richard Madeley started laughing as she joked, “I’m not sure I can strategically place this one the same way [as Miriam]. Miriam did something similar, didn’t she?’
Their co-host Richard Arnold then quipped, “It’s very Calendar Girls, isn’t it!? You can do it!’
Susanna then joked, “I can pull it off!” Who would have thought that!’
Susanna later described the look as her “croissant bikini” as they continued to talk about Miriam’s cover shoot.
Richard and Susanna praised Miriam for always being herself as they streamed over the star.

The star posed in the breathtaking photo, sporting only a selection of iced sandwiches to maintain her modesty.
