However, Miriam had no idea what was in store for her as she was shown a double-ended sex toy and claimed she would find being a ‘sex worker absolutely exhausting’.
While another commented: ‘I just saw a bit of the series Miriam Margolyes in Australia on BBC 2. A sex worker called her a gilf and she was like “what is that?” hahaha, she nearly died and then she said “I would find life as a sex worker really tiring” haha. My god Miriam never changes.’
According to BBCMiriam is recovering from recent heart surgery, which has left her feeling more vulnerable.
To adapt to the ‘new Miriam’, she returns to Australia, a country she considers her second home, to find fun, inspiration and a better future.
Her first stop in Perth, the capital of Western Australia, took her out of her comfort zone and gave her the opportunity to learn from people who were walking their own paths to success.
This hilarious episode comes after Miriam recently revealed that she has difficulty walking and regrets not making major changes in her life following last year’s surgery.
The actress underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgery to avoid more invasive open-heart surgery, but said she continues to struggle with her health.
The Harry Potter actress also revealed that she is now registered as disabled and may end up using a wheelchair due to a back problem.
Miriam explained that spinal stenosis occurs when the space around the spinal cord becomes too narrow and the nerves become pinched, making it difficult for her to walk and requiring her to use a wheelchair.
Fans couldn’t stop laughing as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Miriam’s mischievous antics.
Meanwhile, other fans expressed their joy at X by claiming Miriam is a ‘national treasure’
In an interview with CloserThe star said: ‘I can’t walk very well and I’m registered as disabled, so I use all sorts of aids. I have two sticks and a walking frame and they’re so boring, but I’ve only got a mobility scooter, which is really fun.’
But Miriam also admitted that she regrets not making major lifestyle changes to improve her health.
She said she wished she could have overcome her weight and that it was her defeat that she hadn’t.
During a performance at the Podcast How To Fail In September, the actress and presenter admitted that she had not yet overcome her weight.
She said, ‘I’m a mass of blubber. I’m fat. And being fat and 82 is really sad.’
She also says that as she gets older, she fears that she will no longer be able to pay the caregivers who look after her, as her health continues to deteriorate.
She told Radio Times: ‘I worry that I won’t have enough money for carers if I end up paralysed, or whatever happens to me.’
She added that she is now focusing on saving to support herself and her partner and is working on a new season of her hit series.
Miriam, who has been with her partner Heather since 1968, lives in Clapham, south-west London.
