Miranda Lambert is mourning the loss of her two beloved pets.
The 40-year-old country music superstar – who avoided a clash with ex Blake Shelton at the ACM Awards – took her Instagram on Friday to reveal that two of her rescue dogs, Delta Dawn and Louise, recently passed away.
“In the past six weeks, two of the best and most loyal friends I have ever had have left this earth,” the singer wrote alongside a carousel of adorable snaps of her four-legged friends.
The Mama’s Broken Heart hitmaker continued: ‘I’m so heartbroken that I’ve lost them. To keep them that big you have to hurt just as much, they are worth it.’
The photos showed Miranda and her husband Brendan McLoughlin cuddling and playing with their Chihuahua/Pug mix, Delta, next to their Great Pyrenees, Louise.

The Grammy winner said she first discovered Delta Dawn at a Sonic in Oklahoma in the spring of 2009 and had her for about 16 years before the beloved dog passed away on April 22.
She said that when she met Delta Dawn, the pup was “homeless and hungry, but still full of personality.”
She continued, “Little did I know that when I tried to get my hands on a cherry lemonade, I would meet one of the most amazing dogs I would ever know.
“She was on almost every tour I’ve ever been on [and] I am honored to have met her and learned so much from her.”
In her second Instagram post, Miranda announced that they said goodbye to Louise, her “fluffiest and most protective friend,” on June 7 after eight cherished years together.
She then reminisced about the rescue of Louise and her sister Thelma in 2016.
“The first day I ever brought them to the farm in TN they were right at home,” she wrote. ‘I have miniature horses, chickens and goats and I needed them to protect the animals. And boy did they do the work.”
Miranda is also imploring her fans to consider adopting rescue animals.

“I want you all to know that I am an advocate for rescue because I live it and am blessed every day with the joy of having these animals in my life,” she began. “And some days, like today, I’m so heartbroken that I lost them.”
“Shelters across the country are suffering from overcrowding, so this is my heart song to you,” she continued.
‘Think of a rescue operation, shelter or volunteer work. You never know what blessing awaits you there.”
Meanwhile, Miranda and Brendan are doing well after five years of marriage.
The couple met in 2018 while Miranda was appearing on the Today Show and married three months later in early 2019.
It was a messy situation at the time, as McLoughlin’s ex Kaihla Rettinger had their son Landon just a few days after meeting the Drunk singer.

He was also engaged to footballer Jackie Bruno when Kaihla became pregnant.
The country singer credits the longevity of their love to strong communication skills.
“We’ll just talk it out,” Miranda said People. “Whatever it is, we talk about everything.
“And I think communication is super important, especially because as women, we expect men to know what we’re thinking, and they don’t. We have to tell them.’
