Meanwhile, Bohemian Rhapsody star Lucy, 29, put on a glamorous display in a Georgian dress as she embodied the late Mary Antoinette, the late Queen of France.
Chevalier is based on the life of titular French Caribbean musician Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, played by Kelvin Harrison Jr.
New footage from the Stephen Williams-directed film shows Minnie as the ballet dancer Marie-Madeleine Guimard, the star of the Paris Opera.

Minnie wore a pink satin dress embellished with gold detailing and a cape as she gestured to an audience during a performance.
She wore a voluminous dark brown wig adorned with floral detailing and gold spikes, accentuating her striking features with a vibrant touch of pink rouge.
The Good Will Hunting star plays the French ballerina Marie-Madeleine, who dominated the Paris Opera for nearly 30 years and, after retiring in 1789, married the poet Jean-Étienne Despréaux.
Another image from the upcoming period film showed Lucy embodying the late Mary Antoinette as she spoke to Kelvin’s character Saint-Georges.
She looked elegant in a pink Georgian style dress with gold stitching and a voluminous skirt that she wore with a peach colored wig.
Lucy accessorized her ensemble with a striking silver jeweled necklace while holding Kelvin with a fierce look.
Kelvin, who plays the titular character in the movie, wore a light blue three-piece suit as he put on a very smart display.

Saint-Georges was a composer at Marie Antoinette’s court and she attended some of his concerts at the Hôtel de Soubise before they got into an argument.
The violinist conducted leading orchestras in Paris, while also being an established fencer.
Other footage from the upcoming film showed Kelvin on stage as Saint-Georges, showing off his talents with the violin while performing with an orchestra.
The biographical drama follows the life of the French-Caribbean musician, who rises to fame as a musical prodigy and acclaimed in Paris.
However, he is forced to battle the racism of the 18th century regime and his complicated love life before falling out with Marie Antoinette.
The film will premiere at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival and will be released in the US on April 21, before its UK premiere on June 9.
Speaking of the movie, Samara Weaving recently revealed that her co-star Kelvin almost quit during one of their love scenes.
She explained that Kelvin was very tired after learning the violin and fencing for the new movie.

‘It was a Friday. We were in bed. I was super naked. We’re making out and this is when he decides to go, “Ugh, I just want to stop,” she said.
‘I could not believe it. I looked great,” she added.
Samara said Kelvin soon regretted his words, adding: “He felt bad and then he thought, ‘I’m so sorry, I’m just really tired,'” so yeah, my lovemaking almost caused that Kelvin stopped.”
Samara is a rising star in Hollywood having started her career on the long-running soap opera Home and Away.
