But locals and visitors alike were quick to comment on the woman’s post, warning that the estuary isn’t quite as picture-perfect as it appears.
“Sorry, but that doesn’t look like the Whitsundays at all,” said one man.
‘Hahaha enjoy the bull sharks and I’ve even seen thrasher sharks there. I’m a local and enter at your own risk,” another commented.

‘Great place for water sports, or just a great view while walking or exercising. Walking down to the river is nice. Clean and safe area,” said a woman.

However, not everyone agrees that the river is similar to the Whitsundays, and some locals are even warning adventurers against visiting during the holidays.
However, several people believe that the warnings are simply from locals who do not want the destination to become a tourist hub.
“The locals don’t want people to go here just saying,” said one woman.
“Nooooo, don’t tell everyone,” wrote another local.
“I’ve been to some nice places like this in South Sydney, but I prefer to keep most of them quiet because I don’t want it to be crowded like Sydney,” one man commented.
