Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy visited Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) on Thursday and promised all possible help.
The minister addressed workers and union representatives and tried to allay their concerns about the possible closure of the plant, promising that production would continue at 100 percent of capacity.
He was accompanied by the Minister of State (MoS) for Steel and Heavy Industries, B Srinivasa Varma.
The RINL family need not panic over the closure of the plant. With the blessings and support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RINL’s production will permanently reach 100 percent capacity of the plant, an official press release from the steel plant said.
The minister noted that RINL, or Vizag Steel Plant (VSP), will help improve India’s GDP.
Later, Kumaraswamy wrote in a post on X: I personally visited and inspected the Vizag Steel plant in Visakhapatnam. During my visit, I toured various parts of the plant, collected information and inspected the production processes along with senior officials.
He also had contact with representatives of the Steel Executive Association (SEA), among others.
