Customer shocked after exposing worrying truth about BBQ sauce: ‘This hurts my feelings’
An Australian customer immediately shocked thousands of people after revealing how much sugar barbecue sauce contains.
Jordyn Evans, founder of natural seasoning brand Mingle Seasoning, was equally surprised to discover that 1 ounce of a standard barbecue sauce is equivalent to a variety of sweet snacks.
The Melbourne founder posted a video comparing the blob of sauce to Tim Tams, Coca-Cola, Froot Loops and Scotch Finger biscuits.
‘How much Coke, Tim Tams and Biscoff can you eat for one serving of BBQ sauce?’ she said in the clip.
“You’d be surprised that this small amount of barbecue sauce is equivalent to the sugar in 6 ounces of Coca-Cola.”

The average serving of BBQ sauce is also equivalent to over three servings of Biscoff, two and a half Tim Tams or a bowl of Froot Loops.
The sugar content in the barbecue sauce came as a surprise that no one expected and the video was viewed more than 910,000 times.
“This hurts my feelings,” one person admitted.
“But BBQ sauce is life,” said another. ‘My healthy egg wrap with mountain bread and organic eggs is broken.’
‘Sugar has crept into so many everyday foods. And for those like me, who have a sweet tooth, it is difficult to reduce intake,” one person added.

Danni Duncan, founder of the workout app Fit by the Figure, shocked thousands of people when she shared a little-known difference between the two products.
While Danni at her local supermarket set an example by comparing the ingredients in two forms of Devondale mozzarella cheese.
The block version contains pasteurized milk, starter cultures of milk, salt and non-animal rennet. The grated version contains the same ingredients but also has anti-caking agent 460 and preservative 200.
The anti-caking agent 460 prevents the cheese from sticking together after it has been shredded, while the preservative 200 stops yeast growth.
