Mindy Kaling shares heartwarming album of baby Anne’s first July 4th… after revealing she secretly welcomed third child in FEBRUARY

Mindy Kaling shared a heartwarming Instagram album this week featuring her newborn baby Anne’s first Independence Day celebration.

The 45-year-old TV star shocked the world last week when she announced that she had secretly given birth to Anne, her third child, in February.

Now she has let her fans in on the Glorious Fourth Year she celebrated with her baby and her two eldest children: daughter Katherine, six, and son Spencer, three.

In one particularly touching photo, Mindy is seen smiling brightly at the camera while holding her baby, whose face is obscured from the frame.

The photo showed little Katherine and Spencer playing with their toys in the backyard, while a video shows them running across the rocks on the beach.

Mindy also added an aerial video showing Anne sitting comfortably on her lap and taking in the sea air together.

“Sandy/salty skin/no makeup/ice cold perfect waves/lots of sunscreen/frosting/hours outside, kind of an 4th of July,” she wrote.

She clearly made sure the holiday was filled with treats for her kids, including themed cupcakes with frosting in the colors of the American flag.

Mindy announced in an Instagram post last Monday that she welcomed Anne in late February, after a secret pregnancy.

She announced the happy news on her 45th birthday, June 24. She called Anne “the best birthday present I could ever imagine.”

“At the end of February I gave birth to my daughter Anne. She is the best birthday present I could ever imagine. When times are tough, when I get cynical, my three children are an amazing reminder of the pure joy in my life,” the new mother of three posted on Instagram.

“I’m so lucky to live in a place where I can do this on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!”

The post included a photo of Mindy’s baby bump and a sweet snapshot of her other two children bonding with their new sibling.

The post also included a photo of Mindy sitting in a hospital bed surrounded by her two children.

Mindy has not yet revealed the father of her children and told The New York Times in 2019, before her son was born: “I don’t think I’m going to talk to anyone else about it until I talk to my daughter about it.”

However, her The Office co-star, BJ Novak, is Katherine and Spencer’s godfather.

In August 2022, Kaling told Entertainment Tonight, “He’s very good with kids. He literally wrote a best-selling book called The Book With No Pictures for kids.”

The Never Have I Ever creator added: “It’s something that comes naturally to him, you know, just like being with kids. So he’s a great godfather.”

There were rumors that Novak is the father of Katherine and Spencer, but the actress has denied these rumors.

She previously addressed the speculation during an interview with Marie Claire, revealing: “It doesn’t bother me. He’s the godparent to both of my children – and they have such a great relationship.”

The Ocean’s 8 actress previously spoke candidly about her decision to become a mother during an interview with Glamour in 2019, telling the magazine, “I always knew I wanted to be a mother, but I would put it off and put it off. I’m glad it happened when it happened.”

“I would have put it off indefinitely. I have seen firsthand the heartbreaking pain of women who have waited to conceive. [and then it doesn’t happen].

She said her late mother Swati, who passed away in 2012 from pancreatic cancer, was a huge inspiration to her, explaining: ‘For me, my relationship with my mother was an integral part of my life.

‘When I think back on our relationship, it is still a huge source of happiness in everyday life. I am very grateful that I have Katherine.’

In 2019, Mindy opened up about raising Katherine as a single mother: “I’m in a privileged position because I have help, you know, and I know that’s not the case for all American women,” she shared We do it weekly.

“I’m a single mother, but I have the means to get help. … It is what it is!”

Mindy previously surprised fans with the news about her family expansion.

In 2017, The Mindy Project star confirmed her pregnancy with Katherine, after her Wrinkle In Time co-star Oprah revealed the news a few months earlier.

“It’s so unfamiliar to me,” she explained to Today is Sunday. “I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and at this point I’m like, ‘Okay, this is out of my hands.’ That’s a nice feeling,” she said.

She also did not announce her second pregnancy and surprised the world again when she announced in 2020 that she had given birth to her second child.

A host of stars congratulated Mindy after she revealed she had welcomed her third child.

“Congratulations!!!!” Andy Cohen commented, and Reese Witherspoon posted, “Beautifully said.”

John Legend and Julianne Moore also sent their congratulations, while actress Lena Waithe responded with three glittering emojis.

Octavia Spencer commented, “Congrats role model, queen of queening,” while Tan France posted, “Oh my god Mindy, I’m so happy for you!!’
