Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo refuses to rule out future move to Chicago Bulls

Giannis Antetokounmpo has risen from NBA anonymity to global stardom in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform. 

It is almost unfathomable to think of him wearing the jersey of another. The operative word being almost.

Speaking to Fox 32 Chicago, during an ambassadorial promotion, the Greek Freak gave a less than reassuring answer when asked whether he could see himself in a Bulls uniform in the future.

‘I think anybody you ask that question that plays basketball, if he said no, he’d be a liar,’ Antetokounmpo said.

‘It’s a team that won multiple championships; it’s a team that one of the greatest players, if not the greatest player to ever play this game, played for.

‘So it’s a no-brainer; everybody would love to play for Chicago.

The Bulls have not won a championship title since 1998 when Michael Jordan was playing

‘Down the line, you never know. Maybe I play for Chicago, but right now I am committed to Milwaukee.’ 

Antetokounmpo is still tied to a lengthy contract in Milwaukee with four years remaining on his five-year, $228million extension. 

The Greek native signed the max contract before going on to win Finals MVP as the Bucks won the 2021 NBA championship. 

The Bulls could most certainly do with Antetokounmpo on their team. Too often he has been a thorn in the side of Chicago.

Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee past the Bulls in the first round of last season’s playoffs, averaging 28.6 points, 13.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists across the five-game series. 

The Greek Freak was central to bringing Milwaukee its first NBA title in 40 years back in 2021
