Milo Ventimiglia was suffocated after his Malibu home burned down during the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
The This Is Us star, 47, visited the remains of the home where he and his pregnant wife Jarah Mariano, 41, had excitedly prepared to raise their baby.
He returned to the area on Thursday to view the aftermath of the natural disaster.
He also spoke to CBS News about how he and his wife watched their home burn to the ground in horrific security camera footage.
Fortunately, he, his wife and their dog were safely evacuated on Tuesday before it happened.
Ventimiglia became visibly emotional as she spoke about their loss – including the crib and ‘everything’ [that] was founded’ before the arrival of their first child together.

He talked about seeing their house burn down with their own eyes and how difficult it was for them to process this.
“I think there’s a moment of shock when you go, this is real and this is happening. Then at some point you just turn it off. What good is it to keep watching?’
Finally, as he watched the live footage, he said, “We’ve kind of accepted the loss.”
After the fire in the area was extinguished, he returned to the area two days later.
He knew his house was gone, but when he stood there in person, he said it felt “heavy.”
“You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and what not,” the Gilmore Girls alum explained.
“And then you see your neighbors’ houses and stuff and it just breaks your heart,” he continued.
The actor also talked about how his character Jack Pearson on the hit NBC series This Is Us suffered a devastating fire during his very last appearance and saw his fictional house burn down.

“We have good friends and we have good people we work with,” he said. ‘We’ll do it. Woman and baby and dog are the most important.’

Stars like Paris Hilton, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody and many more unfortunately lost their homes in the fire.
Fires broke out in Malibu, the Pacific Palisades, Eaton Canyon, the Hollywood Hills and other areas around Los Angeles County amid a “life-threatening and destructive” storm that strengthened Tuesday.
At least six people died Thursday in the wildfires in Southern California, which have forced nearly 180,000 people to evacuate and left more than 1.5 million without power.
