Leeds United demonstrated the power of their attack as they cruised to victory at Millwall and climbed into the top half of the Championship.
Summer signing Joel Piroe was on the double, while Georginio Rutter added a third, as Daniel Farke’s side showed the forward-thinking talent they hope will take them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
They recorded their first win at The Den since March 2012 to claim bragging rights in what has become a lively rivalry between the two clubs.
Piroe, signed from Swansea for £10.5m last month, completed a slick move in the 15th minute after Georginio had slipped it through to open the scoring.
The Dutch striker was left with a tap-in to double the lead in the 78th minute after Dan James tripped over the ball but diverted it into his path.
Georginio provided absolute certainty moments later, crashing the ball high into the net after James had picked him out in the penalty area.
While Leeds climb to 10th in the early season, Millwall are 18th with seven points gained in the first six games.
