The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) confirmed the payments, which “will benefit more than eight million households.”
The measures are designed to help people with the rising cost of living, which continues to rise.

Payment will be made between April 25 and May 17.
People who received one of the qualifying benefits between January 26 and February 25 are entitled to receive the benefit.
The DWP said those with tax credits will only receive their payment from HMRC after DWP payments have commenced.
The government department has not specified an exact date when the payments will be made.
Those who receive the £301 payment from the DWP will see it appear in their bank account as ‘DWP COLP’ accompanied by their National Insurance (NI) number.
For example, if their NI number is JT 83 42 97B, the payment will appear as ‘DWP COLP JT 83 42 97B’ on your statement.
The £301 payment is the first of three to be made.
The remaining two, worth £300 and £299, will be made this autumn and spring 2024 respectively.
Those who qualify for the payment will receive a total of £900.
This follows the payment of £650 living expenses to more than eight million people by 2022.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt added: ‘I know times are tough, so a major focus of the spring budget has been supporting people with living costs and helping people get into well-paid work.’
The payment is in addition to payments that will be made available to retirees and people with disabilities later this year.
More than six million people will receive £150 disability compensation this summer.
Pensioners are also entitled to a payment of £150 or £300 towards living expenses from November this year.
