Millie Bobby Brown has left fans stunned after revealing the bizarre reason she decided to become a feminist.
The 19-year-old actress admitted that she owes her feminist awakening to a visit to a psychic, which prompted her to explore the idea of feminism.
Millie told me Glamour that a psychic told her she was a feminist, which then inspired her to go home and Google ‘How do I know if I’m a feminist?’.
Millie – who has received one of Glamour’s coveted Women Of The Year awards – said it was then that she “understood the idea of feminism and what it means to me.”
“At the end of the day, it’s about opportunity,” she told the publication in a candid and wide-ranging interview.

Fans were baffled by her rather unusual route to feminism and took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their funny reactions to her revelation.
One wrote: ‘Millie…..you need a psychic to tell you that…??”, while another joked: “My psychic also told me Millie Bobby Brown is a feminist.”
A third tweeted: ‘We need to hear from the psychic who told Millie Bobby Brown she was in fact a feminist.’
A fourth said: ‘Okay but why did you need a psychic to tell you to support women’s rights Millie? but what.’
Another joked: ‘Thanks Millie. I now plan to visit a psychic who will tell me that I am actually a millionaire so that I too can begin my journey to becoming a millionaire.”
The Stranger Things actress has her own production company PCMA that wants to tell stories about what women and girls can be.
Millie said she looks forward to the opportunities to cast other women and artists who might otherwise be overlooked.
Elsewhere in the Glamor interview, Millie said she’s ready to say goodbye to Stranger Things as it’s keeping her from taking on other projects.

The star came into the spotlight at the age of 12 when she was cast in the hit Netflix show as Eleven in 2016.
But as the show prepares to end with its fifth and final season, Millie says she’s ready to put it behind her, likening it to graduating from high school.
She said: ‘Stranger Things takes a lot of time to film and it stops me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you and goodbye.’
She went on to point out that filming for the show takes a long time and says it keeps her from doing other things she’s “passionate about.”
Millie added that she is ready to leave the show that made her famous because it gave her “the tools and the resources to become a better actor.”
Millie has expressed her wish for the show to wrap up sooner, telling Seventeen in March: I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like a lot of the story has been told now, and we know about it, it’s been in our lives for a long time.

‘But I am very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open a new one. I am able to create stories that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful (for the show).”
In August, she reiterated that she was ready, telling Women’s Wear Daily: ‘I think I’m ready. It’s been such a big factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year.
“You’re ready to blossom and prosper and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”
