Millennial woman reveals tips for how to dress like a ‘hot girl’ at the GYM – from the most stylish LEGGING length to the correct sock position – after begging young TikTokers for advice on how to transform a ‘stupid’ outfit

A millennial woman who was excited about her workout clothes has revealed how to look trendy and fashionable at the gym after crowdsourcing fashion advice from young people on TikTok.

Hannah Brown, an actor and writer from Los Angeles, went viral on TikTok after asking other users to rate her V-neck tank top and leggings — without holding back.

‘Hot girls on TikTok, why do I look stupid in the gym? Don’t be nice to me. Don’t worry about my feelings. Just tell me honestly because I know I don’t look as good as I could in the gym,” she told viewers.

“Plus I’m a millennial so we both know I need you to make me hotter,” she joked in the on-screen text.

Brown acknowledged that there was something wrong with her appearance, but admitted she didn’t know exactly what it was. She questioned everything from her socks and shoes to her hairstyle.

The video has been viewed 7.7 million times and received more than 20,000 comments since it was posted on November 7.

The next day, Brown returned with a follow-up video featuring the most popular advice she’d received, saying the hot girls “didn’t disappoint.”

“They told me everything I need to know to be a well-dressed, good-looking girl at the gym,” she explained. “They told me things I hadn’t even thought about, like my leggings are too soft and I should burn this top right away.”

Brown’s first comment was that she should pull her socks over her leggings because it looks “stupid” to wear them underneath.

The podcast host said she was also told to buy 7/8 leggings, which are 1/8 shorter than full-length leggings and hit right at the ankle. This way you prevent wrinkled fabric under your socks.

“The color of the socks should match the color of the sneaker,” she continued. ‘This is very important. White sneaker, white sock. Black sneaker, black sock.”

“Black sneakers with a white sole are not,” she noted. ‘If you are going to wear a black sneaker, you should go for a black sneaker with a black sole. It seems like more and more people are into white sneakers.”

Brown admitted there was some controversy over no-show socks. Some people recommended them, while others said they were out of style.

Many comments were about her black top, which “just had to burn” her.

“It’s so funny because I literally thought this was one of my most flattering and best workout tops, and golly, I was wrong,” she said

Brown was told that her breasts were too big for the top and that she needed a good sports bra to support her chest.

She insisted she appreciated the criticism because she understood what they were saying was unflattering. The style of the top was also an issue.

“The V-neck is bad,” she said. “It’s apparently the worst part of millennial fashion.”

Brown was advised to buy compression tops and longline sports bras that are longer than traditional sports bras. As for style, she was told that round necks, square necks and high neck bras are all in style.

To her surprise, she was also criticized for her simple black leggings, which she admitted she hadn’t even considered as a problem.

The writer also learned that socks should be worn over leggings and black sneakers with white soles, if “not”

Brown revealed some of her new gym looks in subsequent videos and received rave reviews

‘The leggings are ‘too soft’. We need compression leggings for the gym,” she said. ‘The girls say: the tighter the better, as long as they are not see-through.’

Brown was also surprised by how many people gave a loose T-shirt paired with cycling shorts rave reviews, saying it was an “elite combination.”

No stone was left unturned in her quest for gym hotness, with many recommending sleek hair slicked back.

“A high ponytail was the most recommended, but people also recommended buns and some braided hairstyles,” she said.

‘Woooowww okay sold. Buy scrunch socks,” someone commented.

‘STOP!! That looks so effortless and GOOD!’ someone else gushed.

“I’ve been waiting for the reveal – didn’t disappoint,” another added.
