Miley Cyrus recalls the Malibu home she shared with ex Liam Hemsworth ‘had so much magic to it’ before they lost it in a devastating wildfire in 2018

Miley Cyrus talked about the “magical” home she once shared with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth in a new TikTok posted to her page on Tuesday.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker, 30, moved into the Malibu mansion with the Australian actor, 33, after they got back together and got engaged for a second time in 2016.

Unfortunately, the house – which she also referenced in her hit song Flowers – burned down in a devastating bushfire two years later in 2018, and Liam filed for divorce from his pop star wife next year, after just seven months of marriage.

“That house had so much magic that it ended up really changing my life,” Miley shared in the new clip, revealing her interesting connection to the house.

The singer said she recorded her 2007 debut album, Meet Miley Cyrus, in the house where producer Matthew Wilder lived at the time, unaware that the house would be hers years later.

The record helped Miley bridge the gap between her solo music career and her starring role on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana.

“The Meet Miley Cyrus record was really where I started writing my own songs as a solo artist,” Miley explained.

“I was working with a producer in Malibu who lived in a house in Ramirez Canyon that I never knew I would be living in that house 15 years later, which would eventually burn down,” she said.

Miley previously referenced the house in her song Flowers, released in January, which fans believe is about her relationship with Liam.

The star released the very racy music video for the song on her ex’s 33rd birthday.

The pop song’s lyrics refer to her failed relationship with the Australian hunk, including a double entender about Miley seeing her wedding and the Malibu house they once shared “burnt to the ground.”

“We were right / Until we stopped doing that / Built a house and watched it burn down,” she sings.

In November 2018, their home was completely destroyed as a result of the devastating Woolsey Fire.

When the fire happened, Cyrus was in South Africa filming Black Mirror, while Hemsworth was at home rescuing their numerous pets.

After the fire, Hemsworth shared a heartbreaking look at the remains of their beloved Malibu residence.

He posted a photo showing a scorched “love” sign lying among the house’s burnt rubble.

The pair dated for nearly a decade after meeting on the set of their movie, The Last Song (2010), when Miley was 17 and Liam was 19.

In 2019, she spoke about the devastating experience when her house burned down Vanity purse.

“I will never be glad that all those memories, pictures and things I loved are gone. But by having such an experience, I notice that I feel more connected to being human again.’

In the TikTok, Miley also shared the reason behind releasing Meet Miley Cyrus as a two-disc album packaged with Hannah Montana 2.

“This is the cover art for my first solo record as Miley. The smartest thing I could do was put it on a double disc so Hannah would be on the other side, because I wasn’t as valued as Hannah at the time,” she explained.

“The magic was more in her, and so this was a way we could help people put the two and two together so that I was basically always the voice behind Hannah. If you haven’t seen the Hannah Montana finale yet, sorry for ruining it for you,” she joked.
