Miles Sanders Signs With Carolina Panthers As ‘Four-Year, $25 MILLION Deal’ Tempts Fleeing Philadelphia Eagles

After a one-year career in Philadelphia last season, Miles Sanders left the Eagles to join the Panthers in free agency, the team confirmed Wednesday.

Sanders, a four-year player in Philadelphia, had 1,269 yards last regular season before reaching the Super Bowl with the Eagles.

He finished with just 16 rushing yards in that game.

Now, Sanders is heading to the NFC South on a four-year, $25 million deal, according to ESPN’s David Newton.

Sanders thanked Eagles fans Twitter.

“To the city of Philadelphia, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he wrote.

A short time later, he appeared before Carolina’s fans, writing ‘Wow Carolina!!!!!’

Sanders’ departure comes after the team re-signed running back Boston Scott and added former Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny.

The Eagles will have confidence in their running game after center Jason Kelce returned to the team on a one-year contract.

Meanwhile, Sanders will be part of a new offense in Carolina after the team traded for the No. 1 pick, with that pick (or No. 2 if they trade) expected to be used on a rookie quarterback.

Wide receiver DJ Moore was also traded as part of that deal, while tight end Hayden Hurst joined Sanders on a three-year, $21.75 million contract Wednesday.
