- Bukayo Saka was forced off with an injury during Arsenal’s visit to Selhurst Park
Bukayo Saka will be on the sidelines for ‘many weeks’ after sustaining his right hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, Mikel Arteta has confirmed.
Saka lasted just 25 minutes at Selhurst Park before straining his right hamstring and falling to the ground.
The England international – who has five goals and 10 assists in the competition – was gingerly eased off before being replaced by Leandro Trossard.
The England winger was spotted leaving south London on crutches as he struggled to get around without support from staff.
And now Arsenal fans’ fears have been confirmed as Arteta has revealed the Gunners will be without their star man for an extended period of time.
‘It doesn’t look good. He will be out for many weeks,” Arteta said. “It’s a huge blow, but it will be a great exercise for us to overcome another challenge.”
