Mikel Arteta admits it’s ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ to think about Arsenal winning the Premier League
Mikel Arteta says it’s ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ to think about Arsenal winning Premier League after 3-0 defeat to Brighton as he apologizes to Gunners fans for performance that was ‘NOT acceptable’
Mikel Arteta admitted it is ‘impossible’ to think about Arsenal winning the Premier League after their shock defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
The Gunners collapsed when they lost 3-0 to the impressive Seagulls, meaning the league title could be decided next week.
Manchester City need just one more win to secure their third championship in a row, but can win the title before they kick off another ball as Arsenal must first beat Nottingham Forest.
The defeat marked the end of what had been a good challenge from Arteta and his side, but they dropped several points in recent weeks, causing their attacking power to die out.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Arteta apologized to fans for admitting the show was not acceptable, but struggled to explain the reason for the defeat.

The Gunners suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon
Arteta took responsibility for the performance, which he labeled “not acceptable” after the game
“A week ago I stood here with a proud feeling and today we have to apologize for the performance in the second half,” he said. ‘It was not acceptable.
“Mathematically speaking, it is still possible, but today it is impossible to think about it. We have to process the result and the performance in the second half, understand why and react differently.’
The Spaniard was eager to praise Brighton for their play, but sounded gloomy during the interview.
He admitted that his team had no answer to the Seagulls’ play, but took responsibility for the result and admitted that his team needed to be more aggressive.

Gunners captain Martin Odegaard apologized to fans who remained in the ground after the game
“Brighton was very good when we got very poor,” he said. “Before that, it was the game we expected.
“We knew in the first half that the way they play makes the game competitive. It was hard to get a long streak of play. We gave in when they were right behind us and the second one we gave away was a silly one. Then the team had no answers.
“We had to be more aggressive and take risks. They used the space well and we were punished.
“I will always defend my players, so the responsible person is me. After such a defeat at home, you first have to analyze yourself before you look at someone else.’
