Mike Tyson went topless in a fight with Shannon ‘The Cannon’ Briggs after a street reunion in Brooklyn – as the pair were surrounded by fans.
Tyson revisited old sites from his history ahead of this summer’s highly anticipated Netflix fight against YouTuber Jake Paul.
Iron Mike moved to Brownsville, Brooklyn, when he was ten years old and lived there throughout his childhood. He found himself afraid to leave home because of the neighborhood’s reputation and his own family’s struggles with poverty.
The 57-year-old, who turned his life around at age 20 to become the world’s youngest heavyweight champion, returned to the Brownsville area on Friday for a tour with a crowd of locals.
Briggs was born in Brooklyn and also grew up in Brownsville, so he joined in on the trip down memory lane — and the pair couldn’t resist the chance to laugh and chat in their old surroundings.

Former WBO heavyweight titleholder “The Cannon” Briggs also grew up in Brownsville
Tensions with Briggs, 52, jokingly reached a fever pitch, prompting Tyson to take off his shirt and raise his fists.
The Cannon, who held the WBO heavyweight title from 2006 to 2007 and hung up his pro gloves in 2016, followed suit and the pair exchanged a brief punch boxing match with no serious shots.
Briggs proceeded to lift Tyson’s leg and drop him on the sidewalk, before the pair burst into laughter and called an amicable truce.
Tyson shared a video of the incident on his Instagram, with the caption “Brownsville’s finest always ready for a brawl. I love this guy.’
Jake Paul, Tyson’s opponent in July, replied, “Nice chests,” while Ryan Garcia, one of the world’s best lightweights, wrote, “Let me join in next.”

Tyson and Paul will face each other this summer in an exhibition that will air live on Netflix on July 20
A alternative angle of the scuffle was posted by Briggs and accompanied by the caption: ‘@miketyson and @cannon_briggs in Brownsville with a hair straightener for #AtlanticTowers!!!! @smoothedahustler the referee!!!! It is on!!!!’
Boxing fans are convinced Tyson will beat Paul in their Netflix clash later this year as viral training footage has revealed clear differences between their preparations in the gym.
Tyson and Paul left fans stunned with the announcement that they would fight in Dallas on July 20 in an exhibition streamed live on Netflix, despite the 30-year age difference between the 27-year-old influencer and the former pro.
Tyson’s last official fight was in 2005, while YouTube influencer Paul has been a professional boxer as of 2020.
