Hats off to you! Mike Tindall playfully dons Zara’s fascinator as the royal couple attend Magic Millions horse races in Australia

Mike Tindall was seen cheekily wearing his wife Zara’s fascinator as the couple enjoyed a day of horse racing in Australia.

The couple – who have been married for almost 13 years – are brand ambassadors for racehorse auction house Magic Millions, a deal which reportedly earns them £125,000 a year.

As part of their work for the company, Princess Anne’s daughter, 42, and the former rugby star, 45, travel to Australia’s Gold Coast every year to promote the races.

Zara and Mike looked suitably glamorous as they arrived at the event this afternoon – before the rugby player playfully took his turn in his wife’s hat.

The mother of three opted for a beautiful orange and blue floral dress with floating cap sleeves.

Zara paired her shirt dress with a thick matching belt that cinched in her waist.

The former rider – who won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics – paired her dress with silver high heels and a matching clutch.

The royal completed her outfit with a cream fascinator, with orange and blue floral details that matched Zara’s elegant dress.

Meanwhile, Mike looked equally dapper in a cream suit, brown suede shoes and a navy blue striped tie.

During the day, the pair were spotted chatting with friends and drinking glasses of Aperol Spritz in their private box at the Magic Millions racecourse.

At one point, Zara walked onto the racetrack to pet one of the competing horses.

As they left, Mike was pictured playfully wearing his wife’s fascinator in the car park – while Zara was nowhere to be seen.

The father-of-three, looking quite tough, appeared to keep the delicate piece of couture safe on Zara’s behalf as they prepared to leave the racecourse.

Earlier this week, the couple was seen enjoying a day at the beach with Prince Harry’s best friend Nacho Figueras, another Magic Millions brand ambassador.

Mike and Zara put on a loving show at Surfer’s Paradise in Queensland as they appeared at the Magic Millions Barrier Draw.

To ensure it was a very star-studded affair, Zara was joined by her cousin Prince Harry’s best friend, Nacho Figueras, aka the ‘David Beckham of Polo’, and Chris Hemsworth’s wife, Elsa Pataky .

At one point, the Olympian jumped on the horse to ride in the sea, while she later took her horse to ride past the crowd of fans, giving high fives and shaking hands with well-wishers.

Zara is an ambassador for Magic Millions at Doug Jennings Park in Main Beach. Prince William and Harry’s cousin has traveled to the event most years since 2013, only taking a break during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The Magic Millions Racing Women Achievement Awards celebrate ‘outstanding national success and achievements by women in the thoroughbred industry’.

Zara is one of five judges on the race awards, which were presented to the winners at the dinner.

She has previously said she loves escaping Down Under in the winter months because Britain is “gloomy in January”.

Zara and Mike have made no secret of their love affair with Australia. They first met in a bar in Sydney when Mike was drowning his sorrows after being left out of the England squad during the 2003 World Cup. Zara had a gap year and they were introduced by Prince Harry.

The Tindalls previously rang in the New Year 2020 in Sydney with an A-list audience including Rebel Wilson.

Zara has previously said she is ‘considering moving to Australia’, telling The Australian Women’s Weekly in 2019 that she would move ‘if an opportunity arose’.

“Early January is a bit gloomy here (in their home town of Gloucestershire in England), so it’s nice to be able to enjoy a bit of sunshine,” she said.

“I love the Australian lifestyle and being able to get up early and go to the beach – especially for the kids,” Mike told the magazine.
