Mike Tindall breaks his silence on his 2am night out with Zara for King Charles’ coronation

Mike Tindall has opened up about his 2am night out with his wife the night before King Charles’ coronation.

The former England rugby player, 44, who is married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara, 41, appeared on GMB today to discuss his annual charity golf day, which raises money for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust and The Matt Hampson Foundation.

In discussing the recent coronation and his party night ahead of the big day, Mike revealed that it was “nice to have a date night.”

That night, the royal favorite was photographed leaving the Mayfair club Oswald’s at 11pm after dinner with other members of The Firm, including Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne.

He and Zara then went on to party until 2am at the private venue The Arts Club, and were photographed walking down the street looking for a cab home.

They had only left Westminster Abbey nine hours before the coronation began at 11:00 am.

A witness told MailOnline, “After leaving Oswald’s, they continued partying near the Arts Club, leaving at about 2am.”

The witness added that the Tindalls were then seen ‘stumbled in the street taking in all the coronation garlands before boarding a taxi home’.

Discussing his night out on GMB today, Mike said, “It was kind of fun having a little date night.

“You know, sometimes when you have three kids, it’s not always easy to go out for a drink together.

“So it was really nice to have a little bit of time where we could just go out and have a drink and chat and it was kind of fun. So I certainly don’t regret that.’

When asked if he’d been worried about the big event the next day, Mike said, “Never worry about what tomorrow is.” Enjoy the moment and then you can handle the next day later.’

Another topic Mike addressed during his performance was his dad dancing at the coronation concert.

Explaining his basic moves, he said, “It’s really hard when you’re on a raised platform that’s under a lot of light.

“So I felt like I didn’t really put my best foot forward… if you started doing some interesting dance maneuvers on that platform next to the king, I’m not entirely sure it would have turned out so well.”

The former rugby player, who won 75 caps for England between 2000 and 2011, also spoke today about his golf event at The Belfry Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield, which he hosts annually to raise money for Parkinson’s awareness.

He said: ‘This is our 10th anniversary, we’ve managed to raise over £1.2 million in the last 10 years and that’s just fantastic.’

Mike added: ‘My dad has had Parkinson’s for 20 years. It’s a condition that will never get better. He’s always having a hard time.’
