Mike Pence’s former national security adviser says he is “unworthy” to be president and supports TRUMP

Former Vice President Mike Pence’s ex-national security adviser Keith Kellogg said Monday that the 2024 hopeful is “unworthy” of the presidency and endorsed Donald Trump.
Kellogg issued a blistering statement on Trump’s Truth Social network, explaining that he was disappointed in some of Pence’s recent actions.
Pence has become more critical of Trump since the ex-president was indicted on federal charges related to his attempt to overturn the 2020 election and his role in the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
Kellogg said Trump “distinguishes himself as a figure of unwavering determination, a deep vision for America and the courage to take a stand where others will.”
Of Pence, he said, “It’s not the decisive leadership we’ve seen from President Trump.”

On Truth Social Monday, Keith Kellogg explained why he supported Donald Trump despite serving as former Vice President Mike Pence’s national security adviser.
“While President Trump is courageous and unafraid to challenge the status quo, Pence has often taken the passive route, avoiding confrontation,” Kellogg said.
“This lack of assertiveness, combined with an overreliance on failed political advisers like Marc Short, has demonstrated a laisse-faire leadership style unworthy of the presidency,” he added.
Kellogg argued that Trump put America first, while “Pence’s actions often seemed more focused on political maneuvering and preserving his image.”
The former Pence aide then said he believed “bold and decisive leadership” was needed to move the country forward, adding “something we’ve seen in President Trump, but not from the former vice president.”
On his own Truth page, Trump applauded Kellogg’s message.
“What a great honor it is for me to receive a strong endorsement from the highly respected General Keith Kellogg, a true WARRIOR who was in the Trump administration from the beginning,” the former president wrote.
“Keith worked directly with VP Pence, so it couldn’t have been an easy decision to support me, but not hard for true warriors!” Trump added.

Then he plugged in Kellogg’s book.
In addition, the former vice president said on Monday he had met the polling and donor requirements needed to participate in the first Republican debate, scheduled for Aug. 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Trump expected to skip first GOP debate, joked that he will use it to choose a running mate.
“Let them debate so I can see who I might consider for vice president!” he posted to Truth Social last week.
Currently, Trump is holding 53.7 percent nationally among Republican primary voters, according to the Real Clear Politics polling average.
Pence sits at 5.1 percent support.
