Mike Heslin dead at 30: Lioness actor passes away from ‘unexpected cardiac event’ as his husband shares ‘doctors have no explanation’

Mike Heslin died earlier this week at the age of 30, his husband Scotty Dynamo announced Friday.

He revealed that Heslin, who is known for his role in the 2023 thriller series Lioness, died on July 2 after a “sudden heart attack” and a “week-long battle in hospital.”

According to Dynamo, ‘the doctors have no explanation for what happened’, as his husband was ‘young’ and ‘in perfect health’.

He also said his husband wanted to be a donor and that by doing so he had “given the gift of life to four different families.”

Dynamo also revealed that they started the “beginning of starting a family” a week ago and that they already had baby names picked out.

Heslin appeared in two episodes of Lioness and has appeared in several television series, including In Their Shoes: A Journey to Homelessness, The Influencers, House Sitting, I Love You… But I Lied, Younger and 7 Deadly Sins.

He also had roles in the 2023 romantic comedy The Holiday Proposal Plan and the 2020 TV film Boy*Friends.

In his post, Dynamo, who has been together with Heslin since 2018 and married him less than a year ago in November 2023, shared a carousel of photos and wrote a touching eulogy in which he raved about his beloved husband.

The grieving husband noted that Heslin died three weeks before his 31st birthday and four months before their first wedding anniversary.

He said his husband would have been “the most perfect father in the world,” adding that if he “ever… [became] ‘A father’, that’s what he would name his son after him.

He went on to say that he hopes he can “raise him to be at least half the man you are.”

He said his dearly departed husband, whom he also called his “best friend and soulmate,” was “truly the sweetest, most caring and loving man on the planet.”

To Heslin he wrote: ‘When I felt you breathe your last, my heart broke into a thousand pieces.’

“If I had the power to trade places with you, I would do so at once,” he continued. “But I will take it day by day, as you have always told me, and live each day in your honor.”

Dynamo also said Heslin was “brilliant, selfless, talented and a real guardian angel” and “single-handedly dragged me through several rounds of matches.” cancer’ after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in the fall of 2020.

“He was the first person everyone called to share good news, and he was the perfect person to call when you needed a shoulder to lean on or the best advice,” he wrote.

“Michael, meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. You are my world. You are everything to me,” he also wrote.
