Suburban white women rock 15 points with REPUBLICAN: New poll shows Democrats’ support with main group has fallen 27 POINTS since August – as economic issues have been prioritized and abortion has faded

  • Suburban white women have shifted from Democrats to Republicans by a margin of 27 points since August, says a new Wall Street Journal poll
  • The voting bloc makes up about 20 percent of the electorate and was critical to Democrats’ 2018 ‘blue wave’ in Congress
  • While Democrats still trust abortion more, the poll does not outweigh concerns about the economy and inflation

White suburban women are flocking to the Republican Party with less than a week to go until the midterm elections, a new analysis suggested Wednesday.

The voting bloc makes up about 20 percent of the electorate and was critical to the Democrats’ “blue wave” of congressional victories in 2018.

But now, a new Wall Street Journal poll shows that they have moved up to the GOP by a whopping 15 percentage points ahead of Democrats.

It’s a 27-point shift from the left since August, according to the Journal’s analysis of the latest mid-term poll.

One of the main problems leading them to the right is the economy and skyrocketing inflation rates.

Voter discontent with fiscal matters has long been an albatross for Democrats, who currently control the White House and both houses of Congress.

But liberals had hoped that the outrage over the Supreme Court’s quashing of Roe v. Wade in June would give them an unprecedented surge of momentum — which it did for a short time.

Abortion still remains a major topic for most suburban white women and a defining issue for some, but it pales in comparison to concerns about their cost of living.

Half said Republicans have a better economic plan for them, compared to 24 percent who said the same about Democrats.

As for inflation, which was 8.2 percent according to the most recently available data, Republicans are taking a 31-point lead over Democrats, which suburban white women think they can ease.

The group was also one of the most enthusiastic in this election cycle, the Journal’s analysis suggests.

Wherever the chips fall on November 8, the election is sure to shatter turnout records.

Early voting alone has already reached new heights in some states, and numerous polls suggest people are placing more importance on these elections than in years past.

Of all the voting blocs included, 85 percent of suburban white women said they are motivated to vote in midterm elections — a higher proportion than any other group, according to the Journal.

In another blow to Democrats, it seems that most of these voters view their migration to the right as a long-term one.

If the 2024 election were held today, suburban white female voters would prefer Donald Trump over Joe Biden by a margin of 52 percent to 41.

Biden won that match-up in August by a decisive win — 55 percent for Trump compared to 39 percent for the ex-president.

Public opinion polls show that Republicans are enjoying a last-minute surge of enthusiasm from voters that could take them to victory in the Senate and House of Representatives.

It had been predicted for months that the GOP would take back the House, but Democrats saw hope in enough Senate races to avoid a foregone conclusion of total defeat.

From Wednesday, however, that seems to be about to change.

Republicans are now expected to win four Senate seats, according to RealClearPolitics, ahead of a total of 54 GOP lawmakers to 46 Democrats — including the two Independents who consult with the left.

The poll’s latest analysis shows Republicans flipping Senate seats in Nevada, New Hampshire, Georgia and Arizona. All four states have Democratic incumbents who are being challenged by GOP candidates aligned with Donald Trump.

According to the analysis, the Democrats are not expected to win any seats.

On the House side, Republicans are expected to win 228 races, compared to 174 expected Democratic wins.

That means that even if the left won all 33 toss-up races, they still wouldn’t pass the 218 threshold necessary for a ruling majority in the lower chamber of Congress.
